Living your best life does not always mean living your best waistline. Do you feel me? This motherhood gig is my favorite chapter I have yet to write. Unfortunately, this came with the reality of only a small percentage of my closet fitting. This is hands down and without hesitation worth every second with Jo. On the real talk side with all judgement removed, it is hard and distressing to get dressed. If you have felt this way, do not despair. As my wise sister in law said “Last time I checked they make pants in bigger sizes.” Connection and community bring peace. You are not the only one that has looked in the mirror and been less than impressed and sadly you will not be the last. We may all have seasons where our waistlines are not what we want. This does not decrease our overall worth. What I am doing that is working for me to combat the stress today; it is simple.
- Love yourself along the journey! You hear your thoughts more than the words of anyone else so make those thoughts positive and encouraging. Say them out loud!
- Dress for your body today! Create a waistline with your selections, it will make you feel good and look good. And for goodness sake don’t wear anything that is too tight. That isn’t promoting of positive self talk throughout your day.
- Start small. If you’re wanting to see change you must start like you’re gearing up for a marathon not a sprint. You don’t need a stopwatch but maybe a plan to run daily to begin. Change takes time, consistency, and repetitive commitment in action.
The most important thing to remember is that You are lovely and capable of anything you are willing to work for!!! but first You are lovely!
