Shopping and styling seasonal trends can be tricky. What do I invest in? How long will this be in style? The bottom line is no one knows. I am breaking down three trends with links and deals.
I lean toward more of a timeless styled wardrobe when it comes in investment pieces because I don’t like to pressure to buy new every trend that comes around. A great rule of thumb is if this trend is flattering on your figure or is a color that would otherwise be complimentary to your skin tone, it is worth your wear. If the trend isn’t your cup of tea then you might sit this one out altogether.
Sweetheart necklines and puffed sleeved blouses are big this season and so much fun. This feminine trend is simple to incorporate into your wardrobe and can be done at any price range with the amount of options flooding retailers. Shopping neutrals like this white top will make it easy to wear more than a season. I layered my white blouse with a flattering peplum spaghetti strap blouse for flare and extra midriff coverage. Cropped tops are in as well but this isn’t a trend that I support so I layer or buy a longer top.
Wide leg dropped denim is another big trend and one that I feel can really be flatter on any figure. This may be a trend that is worth a little more in two categories. I believe quality denim is worth more in your shopping cart and will be worn many seasons if done right. This pair of denim is currently on sale and designer quality.
Last but not least, the trend that is catching fire in the shoe department is the acrylic heel. This is a trend that I feel will not last long enough to be a real investment via the Almighty dollar. I have found a fabulous pair of shoes for a steal that will have you rocking the trend and guarding your pennies where you can.
These are my favorite trends and I hope you find it helpful to have them broken down and able to shop. Leave me a comment to let me know what you think.
