Cold weather sets in and I want to cuddle up with my favorite throw, fuzzy socks on, and a good book. I am currently reading three books and getting lost in each one. I read them depending on the mood I am in because some are an easy read while others are packed with good information you want to retain. Writing this post is proof to me of how much we change year to year. As a girl I disliked reading and wouldn’t pick up a book even if you bribed me. In such a contrast reading is now something I do when I have free time for pleasure. We were made to be molded and change is a sign that we are moving. The direction we are headed depends on what steps we are taking. One of my favorite quotes is from The Lorax “Which way does a tree fall? …A tree falls the way it leans.” This is magnificently profound and true; and we all lean. We are very much what we eat, read, watch, and hear. I try to be mindful of what I take in so that I like what I am giving.
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
