Hello 2018! It feels like it started without me. Instead of watching the ball drop I was busy battling nausea and a deafening headache and missing the party. Ready or not here it comes! New year’s resolutions anyone? I haven’t made any yet but I am looking forward to being in the present moment and worrying less about the future. Most of our stress is caused by thinking about the future. It hasn’t happened yet, so why should it consume today? The sun is shining and we have today to live it and love it.
” Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry – all forms of fear – are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.”
– Eckhart Tolle
I’m ready to live for today and learn to go with the flow again. My favorite part of a planned vacation photo shoot was the relief of not carrying my camera with me everywhere and taking in the moments for myself. This encouraged a carefree attitude for the trip. There was no need for me to be pressured for the perfect shot because I knew to expect higher quality on the beach with the professional. Sometimes the planning pays off and sometimes the photographer gets stuck behind a car accident on the only highway and you have to reschedule. Either way it worked out and not because of my ability to worry. The art of living in the present will have to be carefully cultivated like any worthy talent. There is a lesson in everything. Happy New Year! Thank you for stopping by.
