Birthday celebrations for Jake this week have made things extraordinarily exciting. With our filled schedule the calories have been endless and the cooler weather is just within reach. I truly love this time of year!
How to pose in pictures is something I get asked about repeatedly. It is important to all of us that we look good in photos. Photos freeze a moment and seal a memory, no matter what we invested in ourselves that day. No matter the memory or your look of that moment, you can utilize a few tools to look your very best in any photo. Here are a few tips to use when posing for a picture.
Step 1 – Situate your body weight onto one leg.
Situating your weight onto one foot will give your body a slimming effect. The act of shifting weight will form your body into an S shape. This natural silhouette creates visual weight to be gathered where it is desirable, and visually tapers the areas we want less attention drawn to.
Step 2: Make a Triangle
Making a triangle with your arms helps your delivery in photos a few different ways. The natural shape of your arm in a triangular position will appear more toned. Furthermore, your arm will emphasize your waist helping it to appear slender.
Step 3: Tilt away from the camera
The weight we carry in our jaw is the root of the “camera adds 10 pounds” theory. When you angle your chin slightly away from the camera, it allows a natural contour to take place. This tilt allows a slimming effect on your jaw and neck area, which combats the enlarging appearance in photos.
Using the same logic as the chin tilted to contour, your hip can play the same role. Setting one hip back and letting the other hip lead, will give your waist a slimmer profile. Hitting the camera lens straight on will give a larger appeared.
