Dressing with a rapidly changing body is a challenge for anyone. You ask yourself How much will my body change? How long will it stay here? How do I want to motivate myself with my clothing and sizes. A.K.A. I don’t want to be this forever. and the most important question of ‘How do I feel good in my skin TODAY’. As dreamy as it is to be pregnant there is difficulty in seeing your body morph into something you know you are not, or haven’t been before. At the very same time it is incredible to witness what it can do. I have been so impressed with my body and the miracle it is producing and how it is doing it on it’s own. I feel stronger kicks each week and know the progression is natural and wonderful yet my clothes start to shrink. Although, I’d love to blame the launderer … I know better. What I have found assisting me in focusing on the miracle and not the weight gain or shape shifting is clothes that fit. We all go through phases of change. Having babies, lifestyle shift, menopause, Freshman fifteen… there is something to push us off course. Goals are good but a cutting waistline is distracting from the now. Find beauty in YOU today. You look good today, it’s okay to say “I’ll look better tomorrow.” but you need pants that fit today and help you feel YOU. I have found for short term body changes that spending a little on clothes that put me in a good mood is well worth the cost. However, this isn’t the time to blow bunches on your wardrobe so what do you do? I have bought some good quality pieces for less than what I usually spend and sized up. DOn’t be scared of the number or the letter size 4 … Size M etc. These are meaningless markers that help us navigate retail not a label. I am not Medium as in average that is just where I am right now and you tell yourself you are a Marvelous medium with a capital M! Make it work and love yourself right now. Here are a few shops to peruse. Thanks for stopping by!
