What You DON’T Need in The Nursery
What a busy week already. There is so much talk of fall but the weather isn’t cooling down yet. We are staying inside and cool until the leaves begin to fall.
I wanted to spend a little time talking about Nursery items on here. The nursery is easily my favorite room in the house. There was so much joy that went into decorating this space. The home decor is fascinating but functionality in a Nursery is most important.
Generally, first time nursery decorators are also first time parents. This makes to hard to buy what you actually need and stay within a reasonable budget while not asking the baby to sacrifice anything.
Here are the three items I wouldn’t recommend buying.
1.) Diaper Pail
This may shock you, because it sure shocked me. We did not use Jolene’s diaper pail more than once. I thought it was too gross to keep in her room so I refused to put diapers in there and let them sit for any amount of time. This was something I thought I may get used to as it became more convenient. That didn’t happen and when she was 6 months old we finally gave our new diaper pail and new home.
2.) Crib skirt and accessories
There are so many lovely linen option when shopping for crib materials. Honestly, your mattress is ALL that matters. You don’t even need sheets if you have a good mattress. We use Newton Baby mattress and I love it.
3.) Extra blankets
Save your money my friend. I believe Jolene has 30 blankets. This is excessive and sadly wasteful. If you are shopping for a bundle of joy, only buy one blanket that you really love. You will get many as gifts.
Thank you for stopping by. f you are decorating a nursery, Congratulations!! You have already won the lottery. Have diapers, wet wipes, and a car seat and you are all set. If you found this helpful follow me on Instagram for more information and entertainment.
