The rain tapped on the hood of the car as I finished nursing Jo in the backseat, not an unusual sight. This task completed the category of control I had for the morning. The sky remained grey as the rain waited patiently as we snapped a few chilly shots in between pastries and conversation. What I remember most about this day is what a great mood Jo was in and how concerned I was with the schedule. The day actually went as planned and no thanks to my worrying about it. Life requires the elements of involved planning, reactions to surprises, and improvisation. Many days do not go as planned and it can be unendingly frustrating. I love realizing that whether I worry or go about my day carefree the plan unfolds the same way. We can make a great plan and then sit back. The plan will work or get distorted by traffic jams, delayed shipping, or rain. I tend to battle perfectionism when I should be engineering a new plan. My new goal is to give myself the patience and grace I would extend to a friend. All in all, plan or no plan, it is a great life to be living. Thanks for stopping by!
